Tottenham reportedly considering making a move for Manchester City’s winger Jack Grealish as a marquee signing in the next summer transfer window.
According to Football Insider, Spurs are closely monitoring Grealish amid growing speculation surrounding his future at City.
Since his high-profile transfer from Aston Villa in 2021 for a record-breaking fee of £100 million, Grealish’s tenure at the Etihad has been marked by a blend of highlights and challenges.
The England international played a key role in City’s domestic and European triumphs, including their historic treble in the 2022–2023 season.
However, he has found it difficult to consistently match the exceptional performances that made him a standout figure at Villa.
Currently contracted with City until 2027 and valued at approximately €55 million, Grealish has accumulated 135 appearances across all competitions, contributing 14 goals and 20 assists since his arrival. (Transfermarkt)
Despite showing flashes of brilliance in crucial matches, such as the Champions League semi-finals and the FA Cup final, his overall impact has not fully met the expectations set by his record transfer fee.
Jack Grealish struggling at Manchester City
This season, Grealish’s role in the squad has become less secure, with reduced appearances in Pep Guardiola’s regular starting lineup.
This shift has fueled speculation that the 29-year-old might seek a move to a club where he can enjoy more consistent playing time and regain his top form.
Tottenham sees a potential opening and could position themselves as an appealing destination for Grealish to revitalise his career.
Spurs’ interest aligns with their strategy to bring in experienced players who can add creativity and depth to their lineup.
While a January transfer seems unlikely due to City’s current injury issues, Spurs may intensify their pursuit of Grealish in the summer window.
Securing the Englishman’s services would strengthen Tottenham’s attacking options and signal the club’s ambition to compete at the highest levels and return to Champions League football.
